We are looking for an Economic and Environmental Modeling Lead to join our fast-growing Gradable business and focus on our carbon and soil health initiatives. Gradable is the sustainability arm of Farmers Business Network, and builds technology and services to better connect farmers with buyers of grain and environmental markets.
This individual will partner with Gradable project managers to execute on soil carbon projects. This person will drive a number of key initiatives and projects – which will focus on ‘certifying’ farmers for practices that reduce emissions and sequester carbon. This individual will own all modeling, calculations, sampling, and traceability for our carbon projects.
The Senior Metrology Technician provides support by testing and maintaining Calibration and Validation (CVAL) fixtures and supporting test instrumentation. The primary duties include providing support for the outdoor calibration laboratory, which involves sensor installation, sensor maintenance, site maintenance, and spiking, filling and assaying compressed gas cylinders. Other duties include maintaining and operating calibration fixtures.
Evaluate and improve remote sensing models for estimating canopy size, surface reflectance, and solar radiation. Help engineer the data processing pipeline.
EC site located in Alberta, Canda. Three year project grant–pending. If grant is awarded work will likely start in October 2016. After EC setup, month 1 of year 1, transmit data to your location. Require CO2, 13CO2 isoflux analysis. On-site maintenance provided. Occasional travel to site required. Part-time. Publication of data is high priority.
