Join us for fun and networking!

Organization:

Fluxnet ECN (Early Career Scientist Network)

LAECESS (Latin American Early Career Earth System Science Network)

To cover the different time zones, two duplicate events will be held, at the beginning and at the End of Day 2, respectively. Read below the flyer to learn more about the organizers and the agenda of the Early Career Social Event.

Program

There will be two Early Career Scientists social events which will have the same format to accommodate all time zones. These events will take place at the beginning and the end of the Workshop on the second day.

The program of the social event is the following:

  • Welcome presentation (10 minutes): all participants will be in the main zoom room. This zoom room will be the same as the main conference.
  • Breakout rooms (35 minutes): Breakout rooms will be assigned to all participants to be able to have a cosier environment for meeting. In these breakout rooms each member will introduce him/herself and after there will be a trivia game.
  • After the breakout rooms you will be redirected to the main room for wrap-up and answers (10 minutes).

Who we are

Fluxnet Early Career Scientist Network

The FLUXNET Early Career Scientist Network (ECN) (formerly known as Young Scientist Network (YSN)), is a community of about 200+ people consisting of students (~58%), postdocs (~27%) and other early-career scientists (~14%) from more than 50 countries.

This network aims to connect young and early career scientists working within the FLUXNET community and the regional networks.  The ECN includes students (from undergraduate to Phd), postdocs, and other early-career scientists, who do not lead their own research groups and who are not the main supervisor of Ph.D. students.

The FLUXNET ECN provides an informal exchange platform for questions regarding research, career, and funding opportunities for young scientists. Furthermore, young scientists can present themselves and connect to colleagues through this network. Last but not least, the ECN aims to bridge the gap to experienced researchers by integrating young scientists actively into the international research community.

Latin American Early Career Earth System Science Network

We are a group of Young Scientists from Latin America aiming to promote networking, integrated science and soft skills. Therefore, we offer a basis to share the ongoing research about integrated land ecosystem and atmospheric process studies, in order to contribute to research divulgation and to provoke some insights to Early Career Scientists and whoever is interested!

Understanding and explaining interactions within atmos-, bios-, cryos- and hydrosphere can help to face directly our huge challenges to get them resolved urgently. This network works on the basis of promoting integrated science, enhancing networking and improving soft skills in order to create better scientists.

We would like to invite you to become part of this new network! Share your experience and your passion with motivated young scientists, get support and new ideas. Together we are much more than the sum of our parts!
