AmeriFlux FLUXNET data products generated by updated ONEFlux codes will start to be available in December 2025.
Updated and previously processed AmeriFlux FLUXNET files can be used in the same analysis.
What’s new
- New and updated processing techniques are used.
- Site-specific BADM are included in the zip file.
- Variable Information (heights/depths and instrument info) per variable are included in the zip file.
- All output variables are always included in the zip file (i.e., the SUBSET variant is no longer available).
How can I identify updated versions from previous versions?
Updated files starting in December 2025 have a “v” preceding the version number at the end of the zip file name and the files within the zip package. Examples:
- AMF_US-ARM_FLUXNET_2003-2024_v1.3_r1.zip
- AMF_US-ARM_FLUXNET_FLUXMET_HH_2003-2024_v1.3_r1.csv
Previously processed file names contain “FULLSET”. Examples:
- AMF_US-ARM_FLUXNET_FULLSET_2003-2024_5-7.zip
- AMF_US-ARM_FLUXNET_FULLSET_HH_2003-2024_5-7.csv
How do I understand the version in the file name?
The format for new product versions is v#.#_r# (e.g., v1.3_r1).
- The string following the v is the ONEFlux code version (major.minor).
- The number following the r is the incremental run number. This indicates a change in the input data or metadata.
The format for previous product versions is #-# (e.g., 5-7).
- The first number is incremented when site input data changes.
- The second number is incremented when the processing code changes the data products.
