| SITE_DESCRequired | free text | Short description of the site characteristics and history Include high-level summary information (2-10 sentences), such as relationships (e.g., within, next to, east of) to nearby land entities (e.g., named forests, towns) and features (e.g., rivers, other instrumentation); general land morphology (e.g., plateau, valley) and ecosystem types (e.g., lodgepole pine, blue grass prairie) and characteristics (e.g., average canopy 20m, summer monsoon); installation history (e.g., installed 1979); and brief land use / disturbance history (e.g., secondary forest on abandoned farmland, grassland with 20-yr fire interval). |
