The Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of São Paulo wishes to appoint a Post Doc position with the need to investigate hydrological and climatological patterns in the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest biomes, using field measures of experimental sites at the montane regions of Serra da Mantiqueira and Serra do Mar, and building assessments of the relevance of these natives forests in the local and regional water and thermal balance with the use of computational modelling.

We need a motivated researcher with PhD degree and scholar background in hydrology, climatology or similar areas, and interested in working in a multidisciplinary team. A background of experience in computational programming, softwares of data analysis and statistics is relevant.

Grant: The opportunity is open to applicants of all nationalities who have PhD completed by the beginning of the fellowship period and not longer than 7 years before that. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Postdoctoral fellowship in a monthly amount of R$ 7.174,80 for 6 months, and a grant equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
