The position is in Dr. Beverly Law’s lab. The person will develop, test and apply the Community Land Model (CLM) to improve prediction of climate-related stress, forest die-back, and effects of future climate and land management options on carbon uptake across the western US. The Research Associate is part of a diverse team of modelers on the project from Oregon State University, U Idaho, Oxford University, and Hadley Met Office. The position requires a Ph.D. in earth system science, ecophysiology, or related discipline, and a working knowledge of FORTRAN90 and a land system model or similar complex models. Minimum qualifications include a demonstrated ability to publish peer-reviewed papers, effective oral communication skills, and to work well in a collaborative team environment.
