A working meeting for the flux community
The AmeriFlux Annual Meeting brings together site teams, data users, students, and collaborators from across the Americas to share results, shape the network’s direction, and strengthen the people behind the towers.
Expect contributed talks and a poster session spanning carbon, water, and energy exchange, community breakouts on measurement, data, and synthesis, and a local field visit. The format is hybrid, so colleagues who cannot travel can still present and take part.
This is also where we discuss the state and future of AmeriFlux together: priorities, infrastructure, and how to keep flux observations strong through shifting conditions.
Meeting themes
We welcome abstracts and breakouts on any work relating to eddy covariance fluxes, with a particular spotlight on four key areas this year.
Bring your latest discoveries, methods, data products, synthesis questions, and community ideas. The themes below are meant to focus discussion while leaving plenty of room for the full breadth of flux science.
- AI and Machine Learning: novel tools, foundation models, model emulation, and approaches that enhance EC flux data research.
- Remote Sensing: links between ground-based and satellite observations, including SIF, scale bridging, and remote sensing with flux data.
- Non-CO2 Gases: methane and nitrous oxide dynamics in natural, managed, and changing landscapes.
- General Flux Science: discoveries, methodologies, uncertainties, and open questions from across the AmeriFlux community.

Travel to Berkeley
- Airports. San Francisco (SFO) and Oakland (OAK) are closest; San Jose (SJC) is also an option.
- Transit. Take BART to Downtown Berkeley, then the 51B bus to University Ave & Marina Blvd. Rideshare is widely available.
- Virtual option. Registered online attendees receive connection details by email before the meeting.
